Happy Labor Day! We just returned from one of my favorite towns, St. Michaels. It is one of the best places to visit in Maryland. A cute little town on the Eastern Shore and only an hour and half drive from downtown Baltimore, it makes for a perfect weekend getaway.
My fiancé surprised me for Labor Day and we stayed at my very favorite place, The Inn at Perry Cabin. The grounds are so beautiful and the property is so peaceful. The Inn sits right on the Chesapeake with the most stunning views of the water. The building itself is so historic and just gorgeous architecturally. The décor is amazing – country, coastal meets shabby chic. Just so cozy and welcoming. It is also a place that’s wonderful to go in the fall and winter and snuggle up with a glass of wine by the fire pits on property.
Side note: It is the location where the wedding scene in the movie Wedding Crashers was filmed, so it has that claim to fame.
We arrived at The Inn to check in and the headed into town to enjoy lunch at The Crab Claw, an awesome local seafood joint in town. The crab cakes and fish tacos are amazing! After that we walked around and shopped. They have the most adorable and locally owned boutiques, so I always have to do a lap or two on Talbot Street. We topped off the day with a drink at Foxy’s Harbor Grille, one of our favorite dock and dines and walked the docks looking at the boats and listening to music.
After that we headed back to the Inn for sunset cocktails in their adorable Adirondack chairs before getting ready for dinner.
The following day we topped off with a bike ride through town and breakfast at Crepes by the Bay (the Smoked Salmon crepe is my favorite) before heading back home.
It was the perfect two day getaway and we can’t wait to go back in the fall.
